Description

MRCOOL Universal Air Handler Heat Kit with Circuit Breaker - R-454B

The MRCOOL Universal® R-454B Electric Heat Kits are designed to provide dependable auxiliary and emergency backup heat for MRCOOL Universal Series air handlers. Installed directly into the air handler cabinet, these heat kits automatically supplement or replace heat pump operation when outdoor temperatures drop, during defrost cycles, or whenever additional heating capacity is required. This ensures uninterrupted indoor comfort even in colder climates or extreme winter conditions.

Available in capacities ranging from 5kW to 20kW, these heat kits allow precise system matching based on air handler size, home square footage, and regional heating demands. Each model includes an integrated circuit breaker for added protection and simplified electrical installation. Designed specifically for Universal Series R-454B systems, these heat kits integrate seamlessly with system controls and thermostats, activating only when needed to maintain efficiency while delivering reliable warmth.

Built for durability and safety, MRCOOL Universal heat kits operate on 208/230V single-phase power and are engineered for long-term performance. Their compact design allows for clean, space-efficient installation inside the air handler, making them an essential upgrade for homeowners seeking added peace of mind and consistent heating performance throughout the coldest months of the year.
